Minimum Requirement:

NYS Unarmed Security Guard (Level 1)

• 8HR Pre-Assignment Course
• 16HR On-The Job Training Course
• 1yr Minimum Security Guard experience
• (Interior and Exterior Security Guard)
• De-escalation Training
• Customer Service Oriented

NYS Armed Security Guard (Level 2)

• 8HR Pre-Assignment Course
• 16HR On-The Job Training Course
• 47HR Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guard
• NYS Pistol Permit (The Registered Firearms, used for Security must be listed on the permit)
• De-escalation Training (Levels II, III)
• Customer Service Oriented

Additional Training:

Additional Training is highly recommended. (Not Mandatory)

Tri-State Security is willing to invest in these certifications.

• ASIS Certification
• Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
• Associate Protection Professional (APP)
• Physical Security Professional (PSP)
• IFPO Certification – International Foundation for Protection Officers

Active Shooter Training:

• Tri-State Security To Provide Active Shooter Training for All New Security Guards of NFS
